Digital ArtA primary example of digital design would be the use of a computer to aid in a certain aspect of design, such a implementing CAD, which stands for Computer Aided Design , a type of software that is specialised for technical and isometric drawings and is frequently used in the drafting process for designers of a variety of different products. However CAD software is just one example of the many aspects of digital design there are many other types of programs and software that can aid the design process. For instance rendering engines may allow a digital photograph to upload onto a computer with digital design software installed and convert the content of the photograph into a computer model. A further example of method of digital design other than CAD
would be use of software that would make it possible for an architect
to make use to make a computer model of a building that he or she had
been commissioned to design and then use other models to subject it to
various stresses to see how the building would react in real life. For
instance it would be possible to use computer modeling to see how the
proposed building would stand when subject to extreme weather
conditions or flooding, although this cannot ever be one hundred
percent accurate it gives designers an idea of how a potential product
of their designs may react in real life situations, this is one aspect
of digital design which may prove extremely useful. |
